Overview

Mayu is a free iOS app that helps you browse anime information and manage your MyAnimeList account. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

By using Mayu, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

MyAnimeList connection (optional): If you sign in with MyAnimeList, the sign-in happens on MyAnimeList’s own page and Mayu never sees your password. We receive OAuth tokens and profile information from MyAnimeList (such as your username, profile picture, and anime list data) to provide app features.

Stored on our servers: When you sign in, we store your MyAnimeList user ID and a refresh token on our backend (Supabase) so your session can be renewed. Your access token is stored only on your device, in the iOS Keychain.

Guest use: You can browse anime without signing in. Guest mode sends no personal information to us.

Device and app data: App version and platform, used to deliver remote configuration (such as the minimum supported version). This is not linked to you.

Crash and diagnostic data: We use Sentry to collect crash reports, error logs, and limited diagnostic data to fix bugs. This is not used to identify you.

Information we do not collect

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

We do not collect payment information (the app is free).

How we use information

We use collected information to authenticate you with MyAnimeList, sync your anime list, display anime metadata and schedules, maintain app security, and fix bugs.

Third-party services

Mayu relies on MyAnimeList, Tenrai API, AniList, Supabase, Sentry, Cloudflare, and YouTube. Each provider has its own privacy policy. We only share data with these providers as needed to operate the app.

Data retention

Your MyAnimeList user ID and refresh token are kept while your MyAnimeList connection is active and deleted immediately when you use Delete Account Data. The access token on your device is removed when you sign out. Crash data is kept by Sentry according to its retention policy, then deleted automatically.

Deleting your data

In the app: Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account Data. This permanently deletes everything Mayu stores about you on our servers and signs you out. Your MyAnimeList account and list are not affected.

By email: write to mayu@wed.tf with your MyAnimeList username and we will delete your data within 30 days.

You can also revoke Mayu’s access in your MyAnimeList API settings. To delete your MyAnimeList account itself, visit myanimelist.net.

Children

Mayu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
